I’m Cole Johnsen, a Northwest filmmaker with a passion for capturing compelling stories behind the lens.
Upon graduating from the University of Denver’s Department of Film, I returned home to Seattle and have since been a part of several exciting projects, including cinematography work for the Seattle Kraken, Seattle Seawolves, Etcetera Tacoma, and Whitman College.

Seattle Kraken
This Kraken teaser trailer, filmed on the Oregon Coast, dropped 48 hours before the start of the 2024/25 season across all Kraken social media channels. It has since amassed over 150,000 views on Reels, 100,000+ on TikTok, and a Northwest Emmy Award as part of the Kraken’s ‘Best Commercial Campaign’ win.
J&S Vineyards
This picturesque profile of Walla Walla's J&S Vineyards captures its seasonal beauty with stunning aerial shots from my DJI Drone, providing an immersive experience of the vineyard's journey from bloom to harvest.
Seattle Seawolves
A recap of the Seattle Seawolves’ 2025 season finale, capturing passionate fan energy and key game highlights as the team clinched a playoff berth, followed by on-field celebrations and ending with both teams gathering in a post-game meeting of sportsmanship.
Whitman Baseball
A dynamic look at the Whitman College baseball team, primarily during their outstanding 2024 season, through game footage, practices, and sweeping visuals of the Walla Walla Valley and Whitman College campus, tied together with a narration to showcase the team’s momentum and winning culture.
Hoist the Colors
This video collaboration between the Kraken and the EDM duo ODESZA is played before the 3rd Period at Climate Pledge Arena. I helped the Kraken determine locations and coordinate shoot logistics.
Lemonade
"Lemonade" is my capstone project from the University of Denver. It offers a heartwarming take on unexpected therapy amidst mental health struggles. The film delves deep into the human experience with a touch of humor and hope. Click the photo to watch the film.

A vibrant music video set to the tune of Anika Erickson's pop-rock anthem. My role was to connect the memories of her childhood dreams and her passion for skateboarding while reflecting the song’s energy and Erickson’s vibrant spirit. Click the photo to watch.
eTc Tacoma
The official reveal video for the Etcetera Tacoma x Seattle Kraken ‘United by the Sound’ capsule collection. Built for Kraken, eTc, and rare wear fans alike, the video launched 24 hours before the collection dropped on social media and played in-store throughout the Tacoma launch.
Seawolves End of Year
A vibrant recap showcasing the energy, emotion, and camaraderie of the Seattle Seawolves’ inaugural End of the Year Honors celebration. The video features award speeches, candid moments, and team interactions in a polished, fast-paced edit shared across the Seawolves’ social media platforms.
